Getac unveils rugged Copilot+ tablets for AI-driven industries

Thu, 18th Sep 2025

Getac has announced the launch of the next generation UX10 and UX10-IP fully rugged tablets for use in a range of industries requiring durable, high-performance computing devices in challenging environments.

The new UX10 and UX10-IP tablets are designed to meet the needs of professionals in fields such as defence, manufacturing, utilities, public safety, and transportation and logistics, while also offering a specialised design for emergency healthcare and public safety professionals. The UX10-IP features a unique sealed construction enabling frequent cleaning and disinfection, supporting infection prevention protocols required in medical and emergency settings.

Copilot+ PC features

Both devices adhere to Microsoft's Copilot+ PC standards, joining Getac's previously released B360 Plus laptop and F120 tablet in this category. They are powered by Intel Core Ultra 200V series processors, integrated with the Intel AI Boost neural processor unit (NPU) capable of up to 48 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This allows for accelerated artificial intelligence (AI) tasks, enhanced real-time analytics, and greater support for processing-intensive applications.

The key features of these Copilot+ PCs include up to 32 gigabytes (GB) of LPDDR5X memory, up to two terabytes of PCIe NVMe solid-state drive storage, and Windows Hello face authentication. An optional fingerprint reader is also available for additional security.

Compared to the previous generation, the new UX10 and UX10-IP offer improved power efficiency for longer battery life, a thinner and lighter bridge battery (available as an option), Wi-Fi 7 support for enhanced connectivity, and dual Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports for high-speed data transfer.

Rugged build for reliability

The tablets are designed to withstand challenging field conditions. Both are MIL-STD-810H and IP66 certified, drop resistant up to 1.8 metres, and offer an operating temperature range from -29°C to 63°C. They are also equipped with a 10.1-inch, 1,000 nits display, which allows clear readability in direct sunlight and can be used with gloves or in wet conditions.

Despite their durability, the devices maintain portability with a weight of just 1.15 kilograms, making them suitable for extended use throughout the working day.

Industry applications

The UX10 tablet's combination of power, flexibility, and compactness is intended to meet a variety of sector-specific needs. For defence professionals, it provides advanced security features appropriate for drone control and intelligence operations. In manufacturing settings, the device's on-board NPU supports AI models suited to predictive maintenance and real-time process monitoring, aided by strong connectivity and video streaming capabilities.

Utilities field engineers benefit from the tablet's broad operating temperature range and sunlight-readable screens, which help facilitate data-intensive mapping and image analysis for anomaly detection. For public safety professionals, the rugged design and on-device AI support applications such as real-time transcription, video analysis, and evidence categorisation to improve incident response.

In transportation and logistics, the UX10 is engineered to excel in environments requiring frequent movement between different temperatures, such as from cold storage to outdoors, with the ability to be securely mounted in vehicles for navigation, processing deliveries, and inventory management.

Infection prevention features

The UX10-IP variant is aimed at emergency healthcare and public safety scenarios where infection prevention is critical. Its innovative sealed button and port design allow it to be repeatedly cleaned and disinfected between uses without compromising device integrity. An easy-to-clean rubber hand strap can be included, specifically for emergency service applications.

James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation, said, "The next gen UX10 and UX10-IP give enterprises a uniquely versatile platform to bring advanced AI into the field. Their compact form factor, rugged reliability, and deep customisation options make them ideal for running generative AI and machine learning proof of concepts across industries, from predictive maintenance in manufacturing to real-time situational awareness in public safety. By combining Copilot+ PC capabilities with extensive extension and configuration possibilities, the UX10 series empowers organisations to safely innovate, adapt, and scale AI applications in challenging environments."

The UX10 and UX10-IP tablets are scheduled to be available from October.
