Mark Ablett, former executive for Hitachi Vantara and Juniper Networks, has been named as the new Senior Vice President of Proofpoint for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. The global cybersecurity frontrunner announced Ablett's key appointment today.

In his new role, Ablett will take the lead in the company's extensive global sales organisation and drive the growth strategy across the APJ region, leveraging his deep understanding of go-to-market strategies in diverse geographic settings. Ablett joins Proofpoint after spending nearly nine years with Hitachi Vantara, where he served in various senior leadership roles, most recently as President of Digital Infrastructure. Prior to his tenure at Hitachi Vantara, Ablett held senior sales leadership positions at Juniper Networks.

With over 30 years of sales experience covering all areas of business management, including strategic planning and growth execution, Ablett is expected to bring extensive industry experience and an innovative leadership approach to Proofpoint. Based in Melbourne, Australia, Ablett will be integral to the company's expansion and escalating growth across the APJ region.

Ablett acknowledged the significant timing of his appointment.
