Exabeam appoints Steve Wilson as Chief Product Officer to drive AI innovation
Thu, 16th Nov 2023

Exabeam, a leading global cybersecurity enterprise that provides AI-driven security operations, has officially appointed Steve Wilson as Chief Product Officer (CPO). Armed with over two decades of experience in AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, Wilson will command Exabeam's product management and product marketing squads to further drive innovation within the firm's AI-driven security operations and New-Scale SIEM product portfolio. He will report directly to the CEO, Adam Geller.

Wilson's impressive track record boasts over 20 years in a leadership position where he creatively drove AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing innovations. Before his engagement with Exabeam, he worked as the CPO at Contrast Security, leading all aspects of product development - from strategy and product management to product marketing, product design, and engineering. Having accumulated extensive experience in orchestrating software platform development at large technology corporations such as Oracle and Sun Microsystems, Wilson has successfully driven product transformation from on-premises legacy software to subscription-based SaaS business models, including at Citrix, where he accounted for over $1 billion in ARR.

"The intersection between AI, cloud, and enterprise security has always been my passion – and I couldn't be more excited to join Exabeam," states Wilson. “I've watched the company transform from being the leading security analytics product on the market to offering a full suite of New-Scale SIEM products on its cloud-native security operations platform. The leaps and bounds Exabeam has taken to become a formidable player in SIEM and security operations is inspiring. I'm eager to elevate its high-performance products to the next level as organisations continue to face more sophisticated cybersecurity threats that must be overcome."

Apart from his new role, Wilson also carries the mantle of project leader at the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Foundation, where he has mobilised a team of over 400 specialists to generate the first industry-standard, comprehensive reference project dubbed the Top 10 List for Large Language Model Applications. The list serves to instruct developers, designers, architects, managers, and organisations about the potential security risks when deploying and managing generative AI and other large language models (LLMs).

Adam Geller, CEO, Exabeam, commented on Wilson’s appointment, saying: "We are thrilled to have Steve join the Exabeam leadership team. His extensive cybersecurity knowledge renders him a perfect candidate to usher Exabeam into its subsequent stage of evolution. As former CPO of Exabeam, it was critical to me that we find a leader with a strong background in AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise software. I have no doubt that Steve’s contributions will enable us to raise the bar even further as we continue to innovate and construct cybersecurity products that aid organisations globally to detect threats, fortify against cyberattacks, and overcome adversaries."

Furthermore, with an increasing number of organisations adopting AI for security operations, Wilson's expertise is expected to amplify new and state-of-the-art AI offerings on the AI-driven Exabeam Security Operations Platform.
