Etleap unveils unified Iceberg data pipeline platform
Etleap has launched an Iceberg pipeline platform that it says addresses day-to-day data pipeline work for organisations that run Apache Iceberg tables.
Apache Iceberg has gained traction as a table format in modern data architecture. Companies use it as part of "open foundation + multiple engines" approaches, where teams keep flexibility across compute engines over time.
Etleap positions its new product as a dedicated pipeline layer for Iceberg. The company said Iceberg does not include functions for ingesting data, modelling data, managing table operations, or coordinating changes across systems.
Pipeline layer
Etleap said organisations often assemble multiple tools to operate Iceberg in production. The company listed ingestion tools, dbt Core jobs, workflow orchestrators, and custom Iceberg maintenance as common elements of these stacks.
Etleap described that approach as expensive to build and hard to operate. It also said it can lead teams to spend time maintaining infrastructure rather than delivering outcomes to the business.
The Iceberg pipeline platform groups ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and Iceberg table operations into one managed system, according to Etleap. The company said the system runs inside a customer's Virtual Private Cloud.
"Iceberg delivers major benefits for enterprises, but to realize them in practice requires a managed pipeline system around it," said Christian Romming, CEO and Founder, Etleap. "We believe our Iceberg pipeline platform meets this need, allowing data platform teams to adopt Iceberg without building and operating a custom pipeline stack."
Operational focus
Etleap said the platform replaces what it described as a fragmented set of tools with a single system designed for Iceberg. The company said it reduces duplicated pipelines, bespoke orchestration, and manual table maintenance.
The company also framed the launch in terms of scaling Iceberg deployments. It said a gap has emerged between what Iceberg offers as a table format and what teams need to run pipelines reliably at scale.
Etleap said its platform lets data teams build pipelines once and use the same Iceberg tables for multiple downstream workloads. The company listed analytics, data science, AI, and data sharing as use cases.
It also said that a unified system reduces tool sprawl. Etleap said teams can retain flexibility across engines and workloads while standardising on Iceberg tables.
Market view
In a statement, IDC pointed to interest in Iceberg across enterprise data environments.
"There is a strong industry consensus around the potential of Apache Iceberg to improve performance and provide interoperability across diverse data sources," said Marlanna Bozicevich. "In today's data landscape, where organizations are under pressure to deliver faster insights from increasingly complex environments, solutions like Etleap's that unify pipeline management and Iceberg operations can help teams meet performance and scalability demands while maintaining architectural openness."
Etleap described itself as a provider of cloud-native data pipeline software. It said its product focus sits around modern data foundations built on Apache Iceberg.
The company said the Iceberg pipeline platform is available now. Etleap said customers already use it to run Iceberg pipelines at scale.
