Epson unveils energy-efficient business inkjet printers in Singapore
Thu, 21st Dec 2023

Epson, the international expert in professional printing, has introduced its latest additions to the WorkForce Pro series; the new monochrome business inkjet printers, WF-M5399 and WF-M5899.

The fresh additions reveal Epson's enduring commitment to providing quality printers that not only meet the demands of businesses, but also contribute to environmental sustainability, the company states.

The WF-M5399 advances as a single-function model, while the WF-M5899 emerges as a multifunction model that includes capabilities such as scanning, copying, and faxing.

As Asia stands poised to become the world's largest energy-consumption region by 2025, as indicated by the Asian Development Bank, the region's businesses are increasingly on the lookout for energy-saving appliances, specifically aiming to reduce energy usage.

Here is where Epson's latest WF-M5399 and WF-M5899 models come into play. These devices, powered by Epson's heat-free technology, are energy-saving inkjet printers which operate on low power, consuming a remarkable 85% less energy than comparable laser printers, resulting in significantly reduced energy usage.

Notably, Epson's inkjet printers display a further advantage over laser models as they require fewer part replacements over their lifespan, thereby making servicing and maintenance much more convenient in the long run. A noteworthy fact that organisations aiming to streamline their operations will appreciate.

Constructed with business and the environment in mind, the WF-M5399 and WF-M5899 models are capable of creating sharp prints through pigment at speeds reaching 25ipm.

The printers accept extra high-yield ink packs, enabling prints up to 40,000 pages, minimising both usage downtime and environmental waste associated with cartridge materials. The printers are equipped with automatic duplex printing and scanning, reducing the time required to commence printing and the quantity of paper used. Additionally, built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities allow multiple users to print from any location on the network from a single device.

The new models enhance user experience with intuitive, easy-to-use, colour-coded functions. The paper handling capacity can be extended with three additional paper cassettes, accommodating up to 1,830 sheets, and thus minimising the need for frequent paper refills. These printers also support the automatic selection of paper types and sizes.

Both models are integrated into the Epson Solutions Suite aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. Epson Device Admin and Epson Remote Services offer the benefit of convenient printer management using a single interface or via the cloud. IT administrators can remotely configure settings and update multiple devices simultaneously, reducing the need to do so individually.

Dedicated to document security, Epson's latest offerings incorporate Epson Print Admin, which prevents unauthorised printer usage, minimises security risks, and ensures accurate document distribution based on user authentication. Advanced Workflows and Document Capture Pro solutions, especially on WF-M5899, convert paper documents into searchable PDFs for easy keyword search and seamless collaboration with cloud service connectivity.

The printers support the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy and improve connectivity for Work From Home users through leveraging Epson Connect cloud services and Epson Smart Panel mobile app.

Head of Sales and Marketing at Epson Singapore, Derek Tan, declares that “Epson’s newest WF-M5399 and WF-M5899 business inkjet printers are designed to be space-saving and energy-efficient without compromising on performance. With their compact size and features, these models can cater to SMEs and companies with small offices, as it seeks to improve business productivity at a lower cost to the business and the environment.”

The new Epson WorkForce Pro printers are presently available for sale in Singapore.
