Dropbox launches three ChatGPT apps for workflow control

Wed, 22nd Apr 2026 (Yesterday)

Dropbox has introduced three applications within ChatGPT designed to connect file storage, enterprise search, and calendar management into a single workflow.

These additions include a Dropbox app, a Dropbox Dash app, and a Reclaim AI calendar app. Each tool aims to reduce the need for users to switch between platforms when accessing files, retrieving information, or managing schedules.

App access

Dropbox app users can access and preview files stored in their accounts directly within ChatGPT. They can also save AI-generated content back into Dropbox and share links without leaving the chat interface.

This integration allows ChatGPT to reference files already stored in a user's Dropbox account. That supports drafting and query responses that rely on existing documents. Access permissions and sharing controls remain consistent with those already set in Dropbox.

Dropbox said the app is available globally and supports customers across all plans.

Unified search

Dropbox Dash extends the company's enterprise search product into ChatGPT. Dash aggregates content from more than 30 workplace applications into a single system.

Within ChatGPT, users can query information across connected tools and receive responses based on their own documents, activity, and team data. The system uses existing context about users and their organisations to return tailored results.

Dropbox said the Dash app will be available to existing customers in the coming weeks. New users will be able to access the service through a 30-day trial period.

Calendar control

Reclaim AI calendar app focuses on scheduling and time management. It integrates with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook to handle routine calendar tasks through ChatGPT.

Users can create events, identify available time slots, and resolve scheduling conflicts through conversational prompts. The tool also supports productivity analysis and contact search within the same interface.

Dropbox said the calendar app is available globally in English for users running the latest version of the Reclaim AI system.

Workflow shift

This launch reflects a broader shift toward embedding work tools within AI interfaces. Teams often rely on multiple platforms for collaboration, document storage, and communication, which can create friction when moving between systems.

By linking these tools directly into ChatGPT, Dropbox aims to centralise workflows in a single environment. That reduces the need to manually transfer information or duplicate tasks across applications.

These integrations also rely on existing security frameworks. File access and permissions remain governed by Dropbox and connected applications, which means users do not need to adjust settings when working within ChatGPT.

Broader context

Expansion of the product set builds on growing demand for AI-assisted workflows in enterprise environments. Organisations are seeking ways to apply generative AI to internal data while maintaining control over access and compliance.

Dropbox's approach focuses on connecting existing content and systems rather than introducing a standalone productivity layer. The three applications address different parts of the workflow, from file handling and knowledge retrieval to time management.

Dropbox said the tools are designed to help users access relevant information, complete tasks, and manage work without leaving the ChatGPT interface.
