Dow Jones Newswires has launched its first AI-powered language service in South Korea, known as the "Dow Jones Korean Language Service," aiming to cater to the business and financial community in the region.

The newly introduced service provides real-time access to top-tier financial news, marking a significant step for Dow Jones in expanding its operational reach into non-English speaking markets. The launch is pivotal in Dow Jones' ongoing mission to deliver timely news, analysis, and data with precision, a practice that the company has maintained for over 125 years.

This initiative in Seoul is a major milestone for Dow Jones as it ventures further into AI technology-driven products. The service is built on a custom technological framework, offering efficient, scalable, and precise content translation by utilising optimal translation models tailored for each language pair.

The "Dow Jones Korean Language Service" employs an advanced process that integrates artificial intelligence with the company's extensive journalistic experience. This approach aims to deliver a machine translation service that meets the needs of business and financial professionals, ensuring high levels of consistency and accuracy through a hybrid model that marries AI translations with Dow Jones's linguistic expertise.

Joe Cappitelli, General Manager of Dow Jones Newswires, explained the importance of this development: "This opens up new opportunities to broaden Dow Jones Newswires' footprint and business opportunities in non-English speaking regions. This Korean-language initiative was driven by the increasing demand from companies and investors for trusted, real-time, global news from Dow Jones Newswires in Korea, where we have seen a dramatic increase in trading of US and global markets."

Elayne Gan, APAC General Manager, added, "By connecting more users to the wealth of world-class content, we will enable South Korean traders, investors, and financial professionals to access timely and accurate news, analysis, and insights from Dow Jones in their native language. We are very excited about the opportunity it represents in opening new markets for us."

Overall, this move indicates Dow Jones's strategy to penetrate untapped markets, aiming to broaden its user base in regions where English is not the primary language. The application of AI in providing news services demonstrates the company's commitment to embracing new technologies to meet the demands of the evolving global financial landscape.
