DIAC & Opus 2 partner to enhance digital arbitration

Today

The Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and Opus 2 have announced a strategic partnership aimed at delivering an advanced arbitration solution and integrating modern hearing technology.

This collaboration seeks to enhance the services offered by DIAC in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia by centralising and digitising processes to optimise efficiency and accessibility in dispute resolution.

The partnership will see the introduction of a new digital platform that aims to streamline DIAC's internal systems and processes. This state-of-the-art platform will enable better connection for all parties involved, including legal practitioners, neutrals, and the DIAC Secretariat, leveraging Opus 2's tech infrastructure for improved scalability and security.

The platform will focus on key areas such as e-filing, which simplifies the initiation of proceedings by allowing forms to be completed and documents submitted online, along with secure payment options. Case registration will be enhanced through effective data capture, review, and verification by the DIAC Secretariat. It will also offer a document submission portal that ensures transparency and consistency, providing a unified environment for managing case documents securely.

Alongside the arbitration platform, the partnership aims to bring Opus 2's integrated hearing technologies and services to DIAC users. This will be facilitated through a services request portal that allows parties and practitioners to book virtual hearings and access other services such as shared electronic bundles, real-time transcription, and electronic presentation of evidence, adhering to DIAC rules.

Jehad Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai International Arbitration Centre, commented, "Our goal is to be a global leader in alternative dispute resolution. To do that, we must embrace innovation, deliver an unparalleled experience, and provide class leading alternative dispute resolution services to participants around the world. This partnership represents a significant milestone in that journey and affirms our commitment to excellence."

Oliver McClintock, Chief Commercial Officer at Opus 2, added, "We are honoured to collaborate with DIAC and support their vision of transforming international arbitration. Having recently opened a local office, this partnership is perfectly timed and enables us to support the advancement of dispute resolution in the UAE. Together our efforts will ensure that DIAC's stakeholders benefit from solutions that not only meet their needs but exceed expectations."

Opus 2, with their offices in the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Singapore, and London, is focused on supporting the evolving needs of the international arbitration community through this partnership.
