Dell unveils monitors with groundbreaking display tech

Yesterday

Dell Technologies has unveiled its latest series of flagship monitors, introducing what it describes as the world's first technology in display advancement.

The new line-up features the Dell UltraSharp 32 and 27 4K Thunderbolt Hub Monitors, and the Dell 32 Plus 4K QD-OLED Monitor. These models cater specifically to professionals needing enhanced visual display and audio capabilities for work and entertainment.

The Dell UltraSharp models incorporate enhanced IPS Black technology, which promises deeper blacks and improved ambient contrast ratios. Dell claims that these monitors offer a 47% improvement in black depth and an 89% enhancement in ambient contrast ratio over conventional IPS technology, according to findings from their studies.

Furthermore, the UltraSharp monitors are marketed as the first 4K monitors with a five-star eye comfort certification from TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 3.0. They feature technology aimed at reducing blue light emission by 30% more than competitors' offerings, alongside an ambient light sensor to reduce eye fatigue.

The UltraSharp monitors facilitate productivity with Thunderbolt 4, USB-A and C, and RJ45 ports, supporting up to 140W power delivery via USB-C Extended Power Range, and are designed to work with both Windows and macOS systems. "These monitors are more than a glimpse into the future—they are here to elevate how we visualize and connect with the digital world today," a Dell spokesperson mentioned in their announcement.

To complement the visual prowess of the new monitors, the Dell 32 Plus 4K QD-OLED Monitor offers AI-enhanced 3D Spatial Sound to create an immersive audio experience. It includes a built-in 5x5W speaker array with advanced beamforming technology, focusing audio towards the listener's ears, applying destructive interference to cancel sound at the opposite ear, providing an enriched auditory experience.

Additionally, the Dell 32 Plus QD-OLED monitor leverages its QD-OLED display for superior colour accuracy and contrast, supporting features such as Dolby Vision and VESA Display True Black 400, promising visuals with enhanced clarity and vibrancy.

Dell is also emphasising sustainability in its product design. The monitors incorporate up to 100% recycled aluminium in their stands, 85% post-consumer recycled plastics, and other materials contributing to a sustainable footprint. The UltraSharp monitors are EPEAT Gold and Climate+ certified, aligning with energy efficiency requirements.

The release of these monitors is part of a broader range of announcements from Dell during the CES 2025. "By prioritising performance, aesthetic design, eye comfort, and sustainability, Dell remains a visionary leader in crafting displays that align with the demands of today and tomorrow," a Dell representative stated.

These developments signify Dell's ongoing commitment to advancing monitor technology, meeting current professional and personal demands with cutting-edge solutions.
