Delinea partners with Microsoft for Entra Permissions change

Fri, 11th Apr 2025

Delinea has announced a partnership with Microsoft aimed at supporting organisations in anticipation of Microsoft Entra Permissions Management retirement scheduled for October 2025.

Delinea's Privilege Control for Cloud Entitlements (PCCE) has been chosen as the preferred replacement to aid enterprises in securing both human and machine identities across platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This development comes as part of Microsoft's plan to phase out Entra Permissions Management, inviting businesses to transition towards the advanced Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) features provided by Delinea's PCCE solution.

The collaboration between Delinea and Microsoft focuses on maintaining robust security measures and facilitating a seamless transition for the users of Microsoft Entra Permissions Management. Both companies have committed to allocating joint teams to support businesses in adopting the PCCE solution, helping users to leverage its full capabilities effectively.

"The introduction of AI has led to an explosion of human and machine identities at a time when public cloud environments are growing increasingly complex," said Art Gilliland, Chief Executive Officer at Delinea. "Microsoft and Delinea share a deep, trusted relationship focused on protecting customers and securing their identities. As Microsoft's partner for cloud entitlement security, together we are ensuring a seamless transition and continued access to cutting-edge identity security, reinforcing the trust Microsoft has placed in Delinea to support its customers."

The PCCE suite offers enterprises the ability to gain control over their multi-cloud environments. It facilitates the identification of anomalous behaviour and helps in refactoring privileges, reducing risks associated with overprivileged and misconfigured identities. Through features such as continuous discovery, AI-enabled analytics, and enforcement of least privilege, IT administrators are afforded increased visibility and context regarding cloud and identity usage, thereby enabling the identification and limitation of excess privileges.

Joseph Dadzie, Vice President of Product Management at Microsoft, further commented, "As we are planning for the retirement of Microsoft Entra Permissions Management, Microsoft is committed to supporting every customer with a seamless transition that minimizes disruption. Delinea's PCCE solution offers a scalable, innovative approach to identity security for public, multi-cloud environments, and represents an effective successor for customers of Microsoft Entra Permissions Management."
