DataStax to launch AI-integrated data platforms HCDP & DSE 6.9
DataStax, the generative AI data company, has announced its intent to launch two significant products later this year. Their latest offerings include DataStax Hyper-Converged Data Platform (HCDP) and DataStax Enterprise (DSE) 6.9. Both products are crafted to allow users to integrate generative AI and vector search capabilities to their self-managed, enterprise data workloads.
The upcoming DataStax HCDP has emerged as a path-breaking solution for self-managed data. It is carefully designed to suit the requirements of modern data centres and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), aiming to support an extensive range of data workloads and AI systems. Organisations operating powerful on-premises enterprise data systems can immensely benefit from HCDP, unlocking AI-enabled data and capitalising on data centre modernisation investments to reduce operating costs and operational overhead.
DataStax's HCDP introduces OpenSearch and Apache Pulsar two key tools for Generative AI RAG Knowledge Retrieval. By pairing OpenSearch's renowned Enterprise Search capabilities with the robust vector search capabilities of DataStax's cloud-native, NoSQL Hyper-Converged Database, users can retrieve data flexibly, accelerating RAG and knowledge applications into production.

HCDP's Hyper-converged streaming (HCS) tool, built using Apache Pulsar, has been designed to provide data communications for a modern infrastructure. It enables event data for better contextual generative AI experiences and allows data integration across all environments. Furthermore, HCDP provides rapid provisioning and powerful intuitive data APIs. These enhancements are fueled by the DataStax one-stop GenAI stack for enterprise retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), all built on the revered, open-source Apache Cassandra platform.
In parallel, DataStax's DSE 6.9 aims to provide a quick upgrade path for enterprises running large on-premises Cassandra and DSE workloads. This upgrade will enable the addition of powerful GenAI capabilities to their on-premises data stacks. Unveiling a Vector Add-On and DataStax Mission Control, the new release promises improved search relevance and operational efficiency.
