ControlUp launches custom dashboards for digital experience insight

Thu, 30th Oct 2025

ControlUp has released a new dashboards capability within its ControlUp ONE platform for customers using ControlUp for Desktops, enabling both real-time and historical data visualisation.

The dashboards feature is aimed at providing IT teams and business leaders with both pre-built and customisable tools for better analysis and troubleshooting in digital employee experience management. According to ControlUp, the new dashboards are designed to support organisations seeking to understand their environments and tailor insights according to their own operational challenges.

With this update, ControlUp ONE users now have access to more than ten ready-made dashboards targeting common scenarios. Users also have the option to create personalised dashboards using an array of widgets and chart types, adding further flexibility. The integration of interactive dashboards lets users filter full datasets through a single dropdown, with access to community-driven dashboards now built into the platform to eliminate the need for extra tools or any additional setup.

"Our customers have been asking for more ways to interact with and visualize their digital employee experience data, and Dashboards are a direct response to that need," said Joel Stocker, Director of Product Management at ControlUp. "With Dashboards, IT teams can start with out-of-the-box dashboards that deliver instant value or build their own custom views that reflect the unique needs of their environment. This is another step forward in our mission to deliver real-time visibility and actionable insights in the most flexible way possible."

User access is organised into "My Dashboards," which include personal and favourite dashboards, and a new "Dashboard Gallery" where pre-built organisational and ControlUp dashboards are grouped for easier access. The feature also enables users to construct custom dashboards using a preset grid system for straightforward placement and resizing of widgets.

For those looking to build their own visual components, the Widget Builder tool allows for comprehensive customisation. Users can perform aggregations, apply filters, group data, and execute mathematical transformations. Visualisation formats include statistics, gauges, time series, tables, donut charts, and bar charts, according to ControlUp's release.

The new dashboards capability was developed by what the company calls the ControlUp Innovation Guild-a cross-functional group that includes representatives from the CTO office, post-sales, product management, UX, and research and development teams. ControlUp states this reflects a broader commitment to incorporate customer input into platform development.

All customers with an active subscription to ControlUp for Desktops, as well as organisations currently trialling the platform, can access the new dashboards feature. ControlUp plans to add further dashboard functionality and expand availability to a wider customer base as part of its ongoing product roadmap.

The company highlights that the dashboards are intended to provide immediate value while maintaining the flexibility for more advanced or tailored data visualisation needs. The new capability is now available without any requirement for separate tools or complex integration, aiming to make digital employee experience management more accessible to IT and business users alike.
