Commvault appoints Melissa Hathaway as Chair of Cyber Resilience Council

Commvault has appointed global cybersecurity expert Melissa Hathaway to chair the Commvault Cyber Resilience Council. The council will work under Hathaway's guidance, advising on emerging security trends and cyber threats. It will further provide best-practice guidance on cyber resilience and offer crucial input on product development, partnership opportunities, and business strategy.

With more than three decades in cybersecurity and digital risk management strategy for governments, international establishments and Fortune 500 firms, Hathaway's expertise would bring a blend of policy, technical proficiency, and boardroom experience to the new role at Commvault. Hathaway, President of Hathaway Global Strategies, provides counsel to Fortune 500 companies in cybersecurity, enterprise risk management, and technology assessment. By advising her clients on emerging cyber threats, policy initiatives, regulations, and other industry matters, Hathaway contributes to the resilience and sustainability of their business operations.

Melissa Hathaway's experience extends to the highest levels of government. She has served in the administrations of Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, leading the Cyberspace Policy Review and the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative, respectively. For her commendable leadership, Hathaway has been honoured with the National Intelligence Reform Medal and the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation.

Furthermore, Hathaway has collaborated with several international institutions, such as NATO, the International Telecommunications Union, the Organization of American States, and the World Bank. She's also affiliated with revered institutions, including the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Canada’s School of Public Service, and Toronto Metropolitan University.
