Cisco & Indosat join forces to boost Indonesian cybersecurity
Cisco and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison have entered into a partnership to improve cybersecurity for businesses across Indonesia.
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, through its subsidiary Lintasarta, has launched a strategic initiative with Cisco to provide comprehensive cybersecurity solutions tailored to enterprises within Indonesia. This collaboration combines Cisco's networking and security expertise with Indosat's in-depth knowledge of the local market, offering a robust suite of consulting, advisory, and managed service solutions.
The solutions set to be provided include Firewall, SSE, XDR, Multi-Factor Authentication, and solutions from Splunk to help Indonesian businesses prevent and address issues proactively. Customers will benefit from the ability to detect and respond to threats in real-time, thanks to network and endpoint telemetry offering invaluable visibility into potential threats.
An experience centre will be established, allowing customers to explore practical applications and integrate these solutions within their digital systems.
Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, highlighted the necessity of cybersecurity within today's digital ecosystem, saying, "As digital adoption accelerates, cybersecurity becomes essential in building a trusted and resilient digital ecosystem. Our partnership with Cisco will enhance security resilience for Indonesian businesses, empowering them to operate securely and confidently in the digital landscape."
Dave West, President of Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China at Cisco, expressed the significance of the partnership, stating, "As digital threats continue to evolve, our partnership with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Lintasarta is pivotal in creating a resilient cybersecurity infrastructure that benefits Indonesian companies across all sectors. This partnership is set to transform Indonesia's cybersecurity landscape and strengthen its economic resilience."
This alliance also aims to tackle the critical shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals in Indonesia, where a significant number of roles remain unfilled due to a lack of qualified candidates. A report from Cisco's Cybersecurity Readiness Index revealed a severe skills gap, with 97% of Indonesian companies acknowledging this issue.
To address this, Indosat and Cisco plan to offer training programmes to strengthen the cybersecurity workforce in Indonesia. Cisco's Networking Academy, which has already trained over 520,000 students in the country, will be instrumental in this endeavour.
The collaboration between Indosat and Cisco is poised to fortify Indonesia's cybersecurity framework, supporting not only the digital transformation of individual businesses but also the broader economic landscape by ensuring a safe and reliable digital environment.
