Check Point hailed leader in cloud security by GigaOm

Wed, 19th Feb 2025

Check Point Software Technologies' CloudGuard solution has been identified as a Leader within three principal categories in the GigaOm Radar reports.

The categories include Application & API Security, Cloud Network Security, and Cloud Workload Security, where Check Point's emphasis on platform unification, a prevention-first strategy, and AI-driven threat prevention were highlighted as distinctive attributes.

Howard Holton, Chief Operating Officer at GigaOm, commented on the significance of these recognitions. "Cloud and API security is crucial for every organisation in 2025," he stated. Holton also noted, "Check Point's unified Infinity security platform, along with its extensive range of cloud protections, is vital for any organisation looking to protect its assets."

Paul Barbosa, Vice President of Cloud Security at Check Point Software Technologies, reflected on the achievement. "We're proud to be recognised for our holistic approach to cloud security, combining cloud network security, workload protection, and posture management into a truly unified framework," he remarked. "Our leadership across these categories validates our continued innovation as we drive forward the industry's most comprehensive cloud security platform."

Specifically in the area of Application & API Security, Check Point was acknowledged for their dual-layer AI approach, enhancing both detection and prevention of threats. This involves AI-driven vulnerability detection, real-time threat detection and response, and data leak protection—all contributing to heightened security capabilities.

Furthermore, in terms of Cloud Network Security, the Check Point CloudGuard solution was noted for its ability to assimilate and assess data from major cloud providers, thus enabling the immediate implementation of adaptive security measures. It offers extensive hybrid-cloud support and ensures consistent security policies across both public and private clouds.

The Cloud Workload Security recognition reflects Check Point's security strategy that encompasses hybrid environments, allowing seamless security with a multi-layered approach. Their recent partnership with Wiz, a recognised Cloud Native Application Protection Platform provider, contributes to workload detection and response, mitigating attacks preemptively.
