Chayora appoints James Wei as CEO
Chayora Holdings Limited, an international investor, developer, and operator of hyperscale data center campuses in China, has appointed James Wei as its new CEO. Wei previously served as CEO of XForwardAI and held senior executive roles at China Telecom for 22 years, as well as a board member and vice president of business development for SSE-listed Teamsun.
Additionally, Wing Dar Ker joins Chayora to lead government relations, further strengthening the executive team. Ker formerly held the position of CEO at BlueCloud, the cloud services arm of 21 Vianet, and was a senior executive at Microsoft.
Chayora's co-founders, Oliver Jones and Jonathan Berney, will step back from full-time executive roles and continue to support the company as board advisors. Oliver Jones, Co-Founder of Chayora, commented on the transition, noting, "The challenges of 2022 are now behind us, and the exciting re-opening of China this year enables us to take the next important step in developing Chayora to be a significant and successful leader in the IDC market in China." He also expressed his delight in welcoming James Wei into the business to assume the role and support him in succeeding.
