CelcomDigi revamps ONE bundle with 5G, fibre & Disney+
CelcomDigi has refreshed its converged home and mobile offering with an upgraded ONE plan that bundles 500Mbps fibre broadband, 5G mobile lines and Disney+ streaming under a single subscription.
The Malaysian operator said the new package targets what it describes as "digital households" that use multiple devices, smart-home appliances and streaming services. The plan is available nationwide through CelcomDigi stores and online channels.
ONE now comes in two tiers, Ultra and Pro. Both include a 500Mbps home fibre connection and a mesh WiFi system for whole-home coverage. The plans also bundle postpaid mobile lines with unlimited 5G and 4G data and a Disney+ subscription.
Customers on either tier receive monthly discounts on roaming passes. They can add extra family lines and GadgetSIMs as optional extras.
Ultra for larger households
The higher tier, CelcomDigi ONE Ultra, is priced at RM300 per month. The company positions it for larger families with three or more members and many connected devices.
ONE Ultra includes 500Mbps fibre service. It ships with a mesh WiFi system intended to maintain coverage throughout a home.
The Ultra plan provides three postpaid mobile lines with unlimited 5G and 4G data. Each mobile line includes MobileSHIELD, which is a security service from F-Secure. CelcomDigi said the protection covers scam calls, phishing attempts and other online threats.
Subscribers on the Ultra tier receive Disney+ Premium as part of the bundle. They can also access selected 5G smartphones and internet-of-things devices on instalment offers.
The company said the device options include products such as the Nintendo Switch from as low as RM1 per month.
Pro for smaller users
CelcomDigi ONE Pro sits below the Ultra tier and starts from RM240 per month. It targets single users and smaller households that require fewer mobile lines.
ONE Pro mirrors the fixed-line component of the higher plan with 500Mbps fibre and a mesh WiFi system. The Pro tier bundles one postpaid mobile line with unlimited 5G and 4G data.
ONE Pro customers receive Disney+ Basic. CelcomDigi said the bundle aims to provide both network performance and streaming content in a single contract.
MobileSHIELD is not included by default in the Pro tier. Customers can add the service as an option at RM10 per month. The add-on uses F-Secure technology for network security features such as protection against scam calls and phishing links.
Household bundle push
The launch extends CelcomDigi's strategy around converged home and mobile services, as operators in Malaysia and other markets seek to lock in households on multi-service bundles. The company describes ONE Ultra as an all-in-one subscription for families that want fibre, 5G and streaming under a single bill.
CelcomDigi said the upgraded propositions target households that are increasing their use of connected devices, cloud applications, video streaming and online services. The operator said it wants to address concerns about security and online scams alongside higher speeds.
The company stated that every Ultra line includes security by default, while Pro users can choose to pay for MobileSHIELD on top of the base plan. The approach places network security as a distinct feature in a consumer bundle rather than a back-end network function.
CelcomDigi also highlighted roaming discounts and the option to layer on GadgetSIMs and family lines for users who need more connections. These add-ons sit on top of the base fibre and mobile plan.
Market backdrop
CelcomDigi describes itself as Malaysia's largest mobile network operator with more than 20.5 million users. The group formed through the merger of Celcom and Digi and now runs a combined network footprint and distribution network.
The company said it is focusing on what it calls the growing digital needs of Malaysian consumers. It cited its network reach, retail channels and portfolio of digital products as the foundation for this strategy.
CelcomDigi employs more than 3,800 staff. The operator has publicly stated ambitions around inclusion and environmental, social and governance practices as part of its broader corporate agenda.
New and existing subscribers can sign up for or upgrade to ONE Ultra and ONE Pro at CelcomDigi outlets across the country or through the company's website. The operator said both plans are now available for Malaysian households that want a single provider for home broadband, mobile data and streaming services.
