Cebu Pacific adopts NetLine suite to boost operations & growth

Today

Cebu Pacific has agreed to implement the NetLine suite of operations control and crew management technology from Lufthansa Systems as part of its efforts to support ongoing growth.

The airline, which operates from the Philippines with a base of nearly 100 aircraft, has selected the technology solution to improve flight operations, crew rostering, and real-time disruption management across its network.

NetLine suite capabilities

The NetLine suite has been selected for its advanced functionality in collecting and evaluating operational data, including weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and aircraft performance. The system is designed to alert operational control teams to situations that may affect flights, crew schedules, or passengers, enabling proactive mitigation and resolution of disruptions.

According to Cebu Pacific, the crew management solution, which aviation technology firm ROIS/Pi supports, incorporates machine learning and high-speed optimisation to shorten rostering cycles. This technology aims to deliver more effective resource planning and support a balanced and predictable experience for crews.

By implementing these solutions, Cebu Pacific aims to reduce operational costs and enhance customer satisfaction through more efficient, data-driven decision-making. The technology will also help to optimise roster planning, streamline trip trading, improve aircraft assignment, and enhance regulatory compliance.

The new systems are designed to support Cebu Pacific's continued growth, building on its current fleet, which includes a mix of Airbus A320, A321, A330, and ATR aircraft.

Operational growth focus

Mike Szücs, Chief Executive Officer of Cebu Pacific, said, "This partnership is central to enabling the scaling of our operations. We're investing in the internal infrastructure with world-class systems that will enhance safety, operational resilience, efficiency and crew wellbeing as we grow our fleet and expand our network across the region. This is all about preparing Cebu Pacific to capture the outstanding opportunity that presents itself both in the Philippines and across the broader Asian market."

Lufthansa Systems noted that it would be supporting Cebu Pacific in building a scalable and future-oriented operations platform.

"We are proud to support Cebu Pacific's ambitious vision. Together, we're building a scalable, future-ready operations platform," said Stefanie Neumann, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Systems.

The two companies have formalised the agreement for the implementation of the NetLine suite, with Cebu Pacific aiming to deploy the system to provide an integrated operations platform for planning and management.

Implementation process

Cebu Pacific intends to implement these systems within the year, aiming to establish an integrated structure for resource planning, aircraft operations, and day-of-operation management. The airline operates with hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, Iloilo, and Davao, serving 37 domestic destinations and 26 destinations internationally across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Lufthansa Systems, based in Germany, provides IT products for airlines worldwide, supporting a range of business processes on board and on the ground. The new partnership extends its customer base of over 350 airlines, focusing on operational optimisation and digitalisation for aviation.

With the adoption of the NetLine suite, Cebu Pacific seeks to enhance operational decision-making speed and accuracy, reduce costs, and improve both internal processes and crew experience. These changes are expected to support regulatory requirements and the continued expansion of Cebu Pacific's network and operations in the coming years.
