Canon Singapore launches AI-powered imageFORCE C5100 series
Canon Singapore has introduced the imageFORCE C5100 series, a new office platform designed to support businesses in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into their workflows.
The imageFORCE C5100 series targets businesses seeking to enhance productivity and security through AI-powered features, particularly in Singapore where AI implementation among small and medium-sized enterprises remains low. While 82 per cent of Singapore SMEs have adopted basic digital solutions, only 4.2 per cent have integrated AI technologies, despite encouragement from government initiatives aimed at broadening AI adoption in all sectors.
AI in Singapore's business landscape
AI has been highlighted as a key driver for economic transformation in Singapore. In his National Day Rally speech, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong referred to AI as "the defining technology of all time." He emphasised the potential for AI to raise productivity and generate new value in the economy, allowing companies of varying sizes to benefit from its deployment.
This market context underscores the demand for technology solutions that bridge established workflows with AI capabilities, contributing to both competitiveness and resilience in unpredictable business conditions.
Features for productivity and sustainability
The imageFORCE C5100 series incorporates machine learning and AI-powered components as part of its core functionality. Canon Singapore identifies four central pillars in this platform: reliability, connectivity, security, and sustainability.
Among its features, the device offers AI-powered maintenance that monitors performance metrics and predicts the lifespan of key components, helping minimise operational disruptions. The connectivity suite is designed to streamline workflow by integrating directly with various cloud platforms, including Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, and Dropbox, while also supporting mobile printing through Canon's dedicated app.
Security is also addressed through built-in environment estimation powered by machine learning, which recommends optimal device settings based on operating conditions. The platform's sustainability profile is bolstered by the use of regrind materials in the drum case and incorporating 30 per cent recycled plastic into its body construction. A smart dashboard enables users to monitor and improve environmental performance.
Business response
"Today's business environment is more competitive than ever, and businesses need smarter ways to drive efficiency and innovation," said Andrew Koh, Senior Vice President and Head of Singapore Operations Group, Canon Singapore. "Canon's new imageFORCE series delivers exceptional print quality alongside AI-powered capabilities that contribute to enhanced security and seamless connectivity within an eco-friendly design. This reflects Canon's commitment to providing powerful, reliable solutions that help customers to boost productivity and achieve sustainable growth in today's AI era."
The introduction of the imageFORCE C5100 series comes as part of wider efforts to encourage AI adoption at scale, especially among smaller businesses that have traditionally faced challenges in deploying such technologies. The series aims to offer a practical option for companies evaluating the shift from basic digitalisation to utilising more advanced digital technologies, such as AI, as they navigate competitive and regulatory pressures.
The imageFORCE C5100 series is now available to customers in Singapore through Canon and its network of authorised partners. Its release coincides with demonstrations intended to showcase the application of AI transformation in workplace settings.
By focusing on smarter maintenance, cloud integration, user security, and sustainable materials, Canon Singapore is positioning the imageFORCE C5100 series as a platform that responds to workplace demands in an AI-driven era. The device is intended to enable businesses to adapt to technological disruption while supporting their environmental and operational objectives.
