Bitget Wallet strengthens sports fan economy with Chiliz partnership
Thu, 4th Jan 2024

Bitget Wallet, an international Web3 trading wallet, is expanding its association with Chiliz, a sports and entertainment platform based on blockchain technology.

The ongoing partnership is aimed at nurturing mass adoption of Web3 technologies, enabling Bitget Wallet to broaden its offering of Web3 asset management services. This is hoped to accelerate the digitisation of sports for fans worldwide.

The collaboration involves Chiliz's Layer 1 blockchain, Chiliz Chain, being integrated into Bitget Wallet. This will make it easy for users to connect to the Chiliz mainnet and manage their CHZ tokens along with a variety of other fan tokens.

Beyond sending and receiving tokens, users will also be able to access a range of sports and entertainment DApps via the Chiliz ecosystem using their Bitget Wallet's DApp browser.

Furthermore, Bitget exchange, which took a controlling stake in Bitget Wallet earlier this year leading to its rebrand from BitKeep, also supports the Chiliz Chain mainnet.

Their partnerships with renowned sports entities such as Lionel Messi, Juventus Football Club, and the Dota 2 Bali Major has solidified Bitget's position at the intersection of the sporting and cryptocurrency worlds.

Chiliz is heavily focused on fan economies within the sports and entertainment sectors or 'SportFi' and seeks to revolutionise the way the sports industry operates through blockchain technology. Their aim, along with enhancing fan engagement and community interaction, is to strengthen fan identity.

Collaborations with high-profile football clubs, including Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain, and the introduction of Fan Tokens associated with these clubs, are attracting a global audience and seeing the appeal of their platform grow across regions. Chiliz is also in the process of broadening its ecosystem to include sectors like esports and gaming.

Alvin Kan, Chief Operating Officer of Bitget Wallet, considers the collaboration to be especially significant, explaining, "The partnership between Bitget Wallet and Chiliz signifies a significant stride in the fan economy, particularly in football, by offering fans a Web3 technology-backed team experience."

Ahead of the curve in the Web3 trading arena, Bitget Wallet is continuously looking to provide users with a wide-ranging asset portfolio, comprehensive trading tools, and user-focused trading experiences. As part of their collaboration, Bitget Wallet and Chiliz regularly join forces for ecosystem activities to boost sports fan engagement in the Web3 sector and deliver added value to those Web3 enthusiasts invested in sports events. For example, during recent European Competition excitement, Bitget Wallet offered fans the chance to win CHZ tokens and Messi jerseys via match predictions.

In the rapidly evolving world of Web3, being adaptable and thinking ahead is crucial. As blockchain technology continues to penetrate the sports sector, it is expected to catalyse innovative changes in fan engagement and brand interaction, drawing an increasing number of Web2 users into the vibrant Web3 ecosystem.
