AthenaSpace has secured Crestron's Works with Crestron AirMedia Technology certification for its AthenaSignage digital signage module, confirming compatibility with screens running Crestron AirMedia.

The certification allows organisations to use existing meeting-room and shared displays for digital signage when they are not being used for presentations or conferencing, without separate hardware or additional installation.

Crestron's certification programme assesses third-party products for compatibility within its technology ecosystem. For AthenaSpace, the approval gives customers a way to add centrally managed signage to displays already deployed in workplaces, healthcare sites, schools, universities, and retail locations.

AthenaSignage is managed through the AthenaSpace dashboard, giving administrators a single view of signage across different sites. The setup is aimed at organisations with mixed hardware estates that want to manage content across multiple locations and display types from one platform.

Screens that would otherwise sit idle between meetings can be used to show announcements, updates, wayfinding information, emergency notices, and other communications. In practice, a display used for a conference call or presentation can switch to signage once the meeting ends.

The certification also broadens AthenaSpace's reach in managed environments where digital communications are spread across a range of spaces. Hospitals and clinics may use screens for corridor information, while retailers can use the same approach for in-store messaging and offices for internal notices.

Tanish Dhillon, Executive Director, AthenaSpace, linked the certification to the economics of workplace display use.

"Most screens in a workplace only earn their keep while they're running a meeting," said Tanish Dhillon, Executive Director, AthenaSpace. "This certification means we can flip that. The same display that leverages Crestron AirMedia to power your Teams call can carry your announcements and updates the moment that call ends. That's what maximising a screen's ROI actually looks like, and it's exactly the kind of problem we built AthenaSignage to solve."

Trial offer

Alongside the certification, AthenaSpace is offering a free 90-day trial of AthenaSignage with every purchase of Crestron AirMedia. The offer is designed to let customers test digital signage on their existing screens before deciding on a longer-term deployment.

The trial can be used to assess how screens perform across a range of settings, including workplace communications, healthcare information displays, campus messaging, and retail content. It may appeal to buyers looking to evaluate digital signage without committing to dedicated displays from the outset.

AthenaSpace positions AthenaSignage as part of a broader workplace technology platform that includes analytics, asset monitoring, digital communication, and space management. The company operates across Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

For customers already using Crestron AirMedia, the certification gives AthenaSpace a clearer route into display fleets already in place. It also reflects a wider push across workplace technology to make existing hardware serve more than one function.

Dhillon said the trial is meant to lower the threshold for organisations considering that shift.

"The 90-day free trial gives organisations a practical way to see how AthenaSignage can turn the screens they already have into always-on communication channels," said Dhillon. "It lowers the barrier to getting started and helps teams evaluate signage across real workplace, healthcare, education, and retail use cases before making a longer-term commitment."
