Apple has added new artificial intelligence features and editing tools to Apple Creator Studio, updating Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers.

The update brings MotionVFX content to Final Cut Pro for Mac, introduces a new image-editing tool in Pixelmator Pro, expands the Content Hub to include video assets, and adds beta assistants to Logic Pro and Apple's productivity apps.

The updated package will be available as a free App Store update for existing Apple Creator Studio subscribers in November.

Video Tools

In Final Cut Pro for Mac, Apple has integrated MotionVFX directly into the app. Editors will be able to access templates, graphics, titles, transitions and tools including rotoscoping, tracking and colour grading without leaving the software.

Apple has also added its Content Hub to Final Cut Pro, giving users access to a library of stock video, photos and backgrounds curated by Apple. The update also lets editors open images from a timeline directly in Pixelmator Pro and save changes back to the project automatically.

Other Final Cut Pro changes include new keyframe easing options, the ability to disconnect clips from the primary storyline and place them elsewhere on the timeline, and support for 23 additional transcription languages.

Apple has also updated Motion with built-in MotionVFX plug-ins and added support in Compressor for encoding Cinematic mode video recorded on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

Image Editing

Pixelmator Pro's main addition is Generate Fill, a feature that lets users alter selected parts of an image using a text prompt. Users can circle an area or use the app's existing selection tools, then describe the change they want.

Apple says the tool matches lighting, perspective and texture with the surrounding image. It can either merge generated elements into existing layers or add them as new masked layers for further refinement.

Music Features

Logic Pro for Mac and iPad is getting several changes aimed at music production and organisation. On the Mac, the software gets a redesigned Browser that groups loops, instruments and effect patches in one place, and uses on-device audio analysis to classify and tag added sounds.

Apple is also introducing a beta intelligent assistant in Logic Pro for Mac. The assistant uses Apple-built models and OpenAI technology to help users start songs, set up vocal tracks from a prompt and refine active projects.

Stem Splitter has also been expanded to separate drums, allowing users to isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts without the original multitrack recordings. Logic Pro also adds Voice Memo Studio Sound to reduce room ambience and background noise in recordings captured on supported iPhone models.

A new Producer Pack from Sergio George is also being added, including piano sounds and Latin jazz and salsa loops.

"This is our most exciting update since the launch of Apple Creator Studio. MotionVFX content in Final Cut Pro gives subscribers rapid access to extensive professional video effects and content, bringing incredible value to the suite," said Brent Chiu-Watson, senior director of worldwide product marketing for apps and iCloud at Apple.

"Logic Pro's new Browser allows users to explore and experiment with more sounds than ever as they create music. Pixelmator Pro's sophisticated fill capabilities now let users completely reimagine any part of an image. And the assistant capabilities in Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are going to change the game for how people interact with and learn to use these apps," Chiu-Watson said.

Productivity Apps

Keynote, Pages and Numbers are also getting beta assistants that understand document context. In Keynote, the assistant helps with slide design and animation, while Pages uses it for drafting and restructuring text. In Numbers, it can calculate, organise and visualise data, recommend chart types and build custom tables.

The three apps are also gaining support for Model Context Protocol, which allows external AI agents and tools to read content, carry out edits and automate actions directly inside the applications.

Apple is also extending the Content Hub across Keynote, Pages and Numbers with stock video footage, and adding new themes and templates. Keynote will also support Keynote Interchange Format, an open JSON-based bundle file format designed for external tools, developer workflows and AI agents.

Freeform is also being updated with reusable text styles and new board background colours. Image editing in Pixelmator Pro and the generation of editable shapes from text descriptions will arrive in Freeform in December.

The new assistants in Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers will be available in beta, in U.S. English only, on supported Apple Intelligence devices.
