Appian introduces AI-facilitated case management studio for businesses
Wed, 6th Mar 2024

Appian recently announced the immediate availability of its Model Case Management Studio, a modular designer facilitated by artificial intelligence (AI) that enables quick configuration of case management applications for business operations. The new technology is positioned to aid businesses in streamlining and optimising workflows such as internal operations, customer service management, employee onboarding and regulatory compliance.

Dylan Fulmer, Senior Director Product, Internal Applications at 3E, praised the potential of the product, stating, “Effective case management supports innovation and customer experience. The efficiency of our operations team, and harnessing insights to inform improving our processes and customer interactions are vital. We are proud to be an early adopter of this technology and are excited about the impact Appian Case Management Studio can have on our employees and our operations.”

Appian Case Management Studio provides organisations with the ability to build custom case management applications swiftly on the Appian Platform. The application employs a drag-and-drop form creation method, simplified data modelling, and easy workflow controls. Coupled with AI and automation capabilities that assist at all stages of case management, the process aims to improve efficiency and offer business leaders automated insights for continuous improvement and process excellence.

The product harbours features that cover 80% of typical case management needs out-of-the-box. Additional modules such as Appian Portals and Appian RPA, as well as integration with enterprise systems, allow for accelerated deployment and increased flexibility. Additionally, Case Management Studio empowers business users by allowing them to easily create forms, data models, workflows, and reports, thereby decreasing the reliance on IT.

AI facilities of the Studio give users advanced capabilities to summarise and search for cases, identify and resolve overlap, and automate repetitive work, all whilst ensuring the protection and privacy of sensitive data. Workflow improvement is given a specific focus with Appian's data fabric and process mining capabilities that aim to unify systems across departments and enhance process performance.

The Appian Guarantee, a service that leverages years of experience in building case management solutions, promises customers a fully customised case management solution in as little as six weeks. This customisation of case applications reduces heavy reliance on IT, putting directly in the hands of users the power to improve casework, explains Michael Beckley, Chief Technology Officer at Appian. He adds, “Caseworkers are further assisted by AI, which is embedded throughout to increase understanding, enhance productivity, and help them complete tasks more efficiently.”
