AoFrio has appointed Peg Tsai as Commercial and Customer Success Manager for Oceania, covering New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific and East Asia.

Based in Auckland, Tsai will focus on customer growth and delivery across AoFrio's food and beverage customers and refrigeration manufacturing partners. Her appointment comes as the New Zealand refrigeration technology company expands its commercial team in Asia-Pacific and develops its connected monitoring offer for cooler fleets.

Tsai brings international commercial and business development experience from roles across Asia, Denmark and the United States. She previously held business development roles at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise covering software, IT, engineering and manufacturing.

Earlier in her career, she worked in commercial roles at Thomson Reuters, MB Century, Formosa Plastics and Corning across Asia-Pacific. She also speaks English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

The appointment supports AoFrio's efforts to deepen its presence in regional refrigeration markets, where beverage, food and retail operators are seeking greater visibility over dispersed cooling assets. The company has been expanding its products and team to support customers managing cold drink equipment and food retail refrigeration.

That push follows the launch of AoFrio iQ, a software-as-a-service platform, and the SCS 800 cellular-connected controller. The products provide refrigeration fleet owners with continuous monitoring and operational data across connected coolers.

They sit alongside the company's existing range of motors, fans and internet-connected monitoring products for the cold drink equipment market. AoFrio is also extending its work into chilled and frozen food assets, including an early retail trial in Thailand.

Tsai's role is intended to support that expansion by working with existing customers and pursuing new accounts across Oceania and East Asia. The focus includes operators seeking tighter oversight of cooler location, temperature and servicing needs.

In comments released by AoFrio, Tsai highlighted the regional scope of the position and the commercial opportunity in connected refrigeration.

"AoFrio is a market leader with a superior reputation, and I'm delighted to be joining the team," said Peg Tsai, Commercial and Customer Success Manager, AoFrio.

"APAC is a dynamic and diverse region, and that's part of what excites me about this role. There's real opportunity to deepen relationships with existing customers while connecting with new ones across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific who are looking for better efficiency and insight from their cooling assets," Tsai said.

Regional demand

AoFrio's regional commercial head said the company has been preparing for higher demand in both drinks equipment and food retail refrigeration. It sees that demand as linked to customers wanting better oversight of asset performance across large fleets.

"We've been deliberately building team capability to ensure we can capture demand and meet customer expectations, particularly in the Cold Drink Equipment and Food Retail space. Peg shares our customer-focused work ethic, and she's already hit the ground running in her new role," said St. John Vuetilovoni, Vice President Commercial for APAC, AoFrio.

AoFrio's software and monitoring tools are used to track location, temperature and service issues in refrigeration units operated remotely across multiple sites. For operators, that can mean earlier intervention when equipment fails or falls outside target conditions.

AoFrio says it already works with major beverage and retail brands that manage large cooler estates. Its business combines physical refrigeration components with monitoring software aimed at helping customers manage fleets more closely.

Broader move

Tsai's appointment also reflects AoFrio's longer-term focus on Asia-Pacific, which it describes as one of its earliest markets. The region remains important as cooler operators look for digital tools to monitor assets spread across different countries and retail settings.

Vuetilovoni said the company sees room to extend its software-led approach beyond drinks coolers and into wider food retail refrigeration.

"There's a lot of value we can deliver in the Cold Drink Equipment market using our IoT and software solutions, from location tracking and temperature monitoring to service intervention alerts. We're also diversifying into the monitoring of chilled and frozen food cooling assets, with an early adopter customer in the food retail industry trialling our food retail solution in Thailand," Vuetilovoni said.

He added: "APAC was one of the first markets AoFrio entered, and we're very excited about the prospect of deepening relationships and connecting with new customers."
