Adobe unveil major update for Frame.io V4 platform
Adobe unveiled a major update of its Frame.io V4, a robust and intuitive creative collaboration platform crafted to streamline content creation and production workflows. This announcement precedes the 2024 NAB Show, and the updated Frame.io V4 platform is starting to roll out today in beta for Free and Pro customers, with full launch slated for later this year for Team and Enterprise customers.
The latest iteration of Frame.io has been engineered to address the complex requirements of creative teams tasked with delivering personalised content on a large scale. The platform facilitates more efficient content creation processes by centralising feedback, reducing the need for revisions, and accelerating the delivery of media assets.
"As the demand for all content types, from video and images to design and documents, continues to skyrocket, the needs of Frame.io's community have evolved. Companies, brands and individuals all need one unified platform that streamlines how teams and stakeholders come together to ideate, collaborate and create, no matter the creative project", states Emery Wells, Co-Founder of Frame.io, and VP, Creative Product Group at Adobe.
Frame.io V4 ushers in a new era of workflow management with its dynamic metadata framework and smart folder system known as Collections, providing a platform that is not just fully customisable and powerful, but also flexible enough to cater to any creative workflow. It facilitates transformational experiences for file transfer, media asset review and approval, sharing, and presentations, offering users a very potent and user-friendly experience for their most demanding creative projects.
However, the most significant uplift is the redesign of interaction methods with assets. With V4, users can now tag, organise and view their media based on the workflow dynamics of their teams. A new feature, Collections, provides users with a flexible, real-time and saved view of assets, dynamically selecting, filtering, grouping and sorting media using metadata.
Creative Review and Approval have also been reimagined, with a unified and redesigned player architecture to create a captivating media viewing experience, consistent controls across various file types, more and improved ways of sharing feedback, including a completely reassessed commenting system loaded with a multitude of new features.
The sharing and presentation aspects are also heavily enhanced, providing users with a more interactive experience to browse, preview, and customise, all from a single view. Other new features include managing group audition tapes by character, comparing potential sites for location scouting, managing video dailies, and managing the review and approval of creative assets in a marketing campaign.
Moreover, Frame.io continues to integrate natively across the Adobe product portfolio and is set to integrate with Workfront later this year, enabling a cohesive review and approval workflow that can seamlessly facilitate collaboration between diverse functional teams.
To date, Frame.io has been embraced by over 4 million users, including leading advertising agencies, media and entertainment companies, and global brands, making it their go-to platform for video review and approval by streamlining production processes and enabling video editors and key project stakeholders to collaborate using cloud-first workflows.
