Secureworks appoints New Director of New Business APAC
Fri, 9th Dec 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The company has appointed former National Australia Bank cybersecurity stalwart Paul Byrne as Director of New Business Asia Pacific and Japan, as well as experienced channel expert Catherine Naranjo to the role of Channels Lead.

Byrne will spearhead the development of the company's offering for the cyber insurance market, whilst Naranjo will be responsible for growing Secureworks partner network across APAC as its Partner First strategy rolls out globally.

As companies seek to move towards cloud platforms, and away from security estates built on point solutions, Secureworks has seen significant growth for Taegis across APAC. In their respective roles, Byrne and Naranjo will play a key role in accelerating that momentum.

Cyber insurance has become a core growth market for Secureworks, and in his role, Byrne will work with the cyber insurance ecosystem, customers and partners to ensure organisations have a proactive, robust defence and are well placed to defend their network from adversarial attacks.

Byrne's team will also work with companies and insurers to help navigate the insurance claims and their requirements should a business become victim to attack.

"We've seen insurers become more stringent over the last 12 months and this has presented some business challenges in terms of accessing the appropriate insurance coverage," Byrne says.

"Ultimately though, companies and insurers share the same objective: to ensure a company understands and manages their cyber risk through mitigating as much as possible and insuring the residual risk.

"Built on over 20 years of real-world experience, Taegis has a core role to play in aligning organisational cyber investments and the requirements of cyber insurers."

Naranjo will spearhead Secureworks Partner First go-to-market approach across APAC, which will see all new business conducted in collaboration with partners in 2023.

She will build Secureworks APAC channel, strategically recruiting partners that are best placed to deliver on Secureworks' growth plan for its cloud-native Taegis XDR platform and ManagedXDR solutions.

"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic regional team and play an instrumental role with a company focused on the cybersecurity protection of thousands of companies around the world," Naranjo says.

"Our partner program is built for success and designed to give partners industry-leading growth and margins.

"We have the right platform and resources to supercharge mutual growth, whilst focusing on delivering value for our partner's customers through our in-depth and unique understanding of the cybersecurity challenges they face not only today but also in the future."
