Huawei Cloud leads AI shift in Singapore with new alliance launch

Wed, 3rd Dec 2025

Huawei Cloud has set its sights on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in Singapore, introducing new infrastructure and launching an alliance designed to foster AI adoption across a range of industries. The company’s latest initiatives reflect a shift from experimental projects to practical AI implementation, focusing on the needs of businesses seeking to leverage generative AI technologies in real-world scenarios.

AI adoption shift

Singapore’s business landscape is seeing substantial AI uptake, with data suggesting that 70% of companies in the country have adopted AI in some form. At a recent industry gathering, Wu Shiwei, Chief Technology Officer of Huawei Cloud APAC, outlined the company’s approach to accommodating this rapid development. “To drive the next wave of Generative AI adoption, success will be defined by real-world business applications. Huawei Cloud accelerates this shift by offering a complete, ecosystem-driven solution. Through its integrated AI-native infrastructure, CloudMatrix, and a rich network of data and applications, Huawei Cloud enables companies to rapidly deploy and scale impactful GenAI use cases,” said Wu Shiwei, Chief Technology Officer, Huawei Cloud APAC.

National ambitions

Huawei Cloud is positioning itself as a central contributor to Singapore’s national AI objectives. Gigi Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Singapore, described the three core infrastructure drivers necessary for digital transformation. “As we reflect on 2025, Singapore’s digital landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation. At the heart of this evolution are three key drivers: new AI-ready IaaS, new PaaS for agent development, and transformative SaaS powered by AI Agents, all of which empower industries to thrive in the digital age. Huawei Cloud is fully prepared to navigate this transformation alongside the nation and jointly shape an intelligent future for Singapore,” said Hu.

Industry alliance

In support of these ambitions, Huawei Cloud has launched the Huawei Cloud Singapore AI Pioneer Partner Ecosystem Alliance. The initiative brings together nine AI-focused companies - including YITU Technology, Weaver Network International, Sunline Holding, TrustDecision, Udesk, iFLYTEK, Neuxnet, Sefonsoft, and AiMall - to focus on development in sectors such as public services, retail, education, fintech, and transport.

Partner contributions

Each alliance partner contributes AI technologies tailored for practical application. YITU Technology’s Head of Global Solution Sales, Zach Tang, discussed the use of video intelligence and computer vision to improve public safety and smart city applications. Weaver Network International’s Managing Director Ken Wei described how AI in low-code environments is being used to optimise contract and invoice management for better operational efficiency.

Financial technology is another area of focus. Liang Yansui, Solution VP of Sunline, highlighted a unified data platform for banks. Lee Man Paul, Regional Sales Director at TrustDecision, explained how their AI risk engine addresses fraud and compliance requirements for financial institutions.

Udesk, represented by Global Business Director Bruce Ke, emphasised AI-powered multilingual customer service and compliance tools for cross-border businesses. Jeffery Wang, Country Manager, Open Platform iFLYTEK Group, set out how speech recognition, OCR (optical character recognition), and translation technologies are seeing practical deployment both globally and in Singapore. Sean Wei, Sales Director of Neuxnet, spoke of intelligent automation in procurement and Oracle ERP integration.

Other alliance partners such as Sefonsoft and AiMall are addressing enterprise data analytics and retail operations. Sefonsoft’s offerings include analytics and reporting platforms; AiMall’s Dr Chris Yang highlighted solutions that claim to reduce staff training costs by 70% and shrinkage by over 60% through the use of Phygital AI in retail settings.

Strategic priorities

The alliance aims to combine Huawei Cloud’s infrastructure with partner expertise to help businesses reduce workloads and accelerate digital transformation. The long-term goal is to create an AI ecosystem in Singapore that is resilient, scalable and ready to address sector-specific challenges with domain-appropriate technology solutions.

“Huawei Cloud accelerates this shift by offering a complete, ecosystem-driven solution.
