Guidewire unveils Olos to modernise pricing & AI
Guidewire has launched a new product release called Olos that targets pricing, underwriting, and workers' compensation for property and casualty insurers.
The release introduces a series of updates across the company's core insurance systems. It focuses on pricing modernisation, faster rate changes, and improvements in claims performance.
Olos centres on Guidewire PricingCentre. The company positions PricingCentre as a single system for pricing and rating across actuarial, pricing, and IT teams.
Guidewire said PricingCentre brings the pricing and rating lifecycle into one place. The product replaces hand-offs between different functions with a shared workflow.
The system supports dynamic price modelling. It also supports impact analysis and AI-based pricing insights.
Guidewire said the product connects with other Guidewire applications and services. The company said this setup enables faster rate adjustments and gives insurers more flexibility in pricing operations.
"PricingCentre gives insurers a single platform to model, test, and deploy pricing changes with speed and confidence," said Dawid Kopczyk, Senior Director, Pricing and Rating, Guidewire. "By unifying workflows, it empowers actuaries, rating developers, and IT teams to build advanced models and accelerate rate changes from months to days to deliver the best possible pricing to insurance customers."
The company is pitching Olos as part of a broader move towards more automated and data-led insurance operations. It is also highlighting early use of agentic artificial intelligence within core workflows.
Underwriting focus
The Olos release includes a feature called Underwriting Assistant. Guidewire describes this as the first core agentic AI feature within its upcoming Guidewire UnderwritingCentre system.
Underwriting Assistant is designed for submission handling. The tool automates intake, triage, and data enrichment ar Laylaound new submissions.
Guidewire said the feature supports underwriters who want faster and more consistent decisions. The assistant uses workflows and AI to structure and route information.
UnderwritingCentre remains in development. Guidewire plans it as an end-to-end underwriting system with GenAI-based assistants and workflow automation.
The company said the future product will support submission management and risk selection. It will combine workflow tools with AI models in a single underwriting environment.
Workers' compensation
Olos also extends Guidewire's workers' compensation functions. The release focuses on claim segmentation and predictive analytics.
Insurers can use Olos to configure detailed workers' compensation claim segments within Guidewire ClaimCentre. This segmentation supports assignment rules and handling priorities.
Guidewire said the additional segmentation improves visibility across workers' compensation portfolios. It also said the change supports more tailored claims handling processes.
The release includes predictive analytics for workers' compensation claims. The models target legal risk, medical severity, payment likelihood, and estimated loss.
Guidewire said these insights support better return-to-work outcomes. The company also said they provide more control over claims expenses.
Rules and automation
Olos introduces a new Guidewire Rules Service for business rules management. The service centralises rule creation and maintenance for insurance processes.
Rules Service includes a visual Rules Designer. Users can model and adjust rules through a graphical interface.
Guidewire said this approach reduces reliance on code changes. It also said insurers can respond faster to changing requirements.
The release adds APD Conversion for product definitions. The feature converts existing insurance products into Guidewire's Advanced Product Designer format.
This conversion supports moves from older environments into the cloud. It gives insurers a pathway to standardise product models.
Analytics and AI
Olos expands the use of predictive models within Guidewire's cloud products. The release embeds Claims Intel models into InsuranceNow Analytics workflows.
Insurers can use these models in adjuster assignment, reserve management, and vendor selection. The models sit within analytics processes rather than separate tools.
Guidewire has also outlined a GenAI Service and Agentic Framework as part of Olos. These tools allow insurers to set up AI agents across the insurance lifecycle.
The company said the agents can perform complex tasks within pricing, underwriting, and claims. The agents use context from core systems and data sources.
Guidewire is initially limiting access to some Olos functions. Early Access programmes and limited customer releases apply to several features.
"With Olos, insurers unlock a new era of intelligence and agility," said Diego Devalle, Chief Product Development Officer, Guidewire. "The release enables insurers to update rates faster, strengthen claims decisions, and accelerate team response times, providing a better experience for policyholders."
